The new November issue of Llais Y Fro, the Choir’s e-magazine, has now been published and is available to read at:-

The Choir’s tour to the Isle of Wight saw them perform 2 concerts, both to capacity, sold-out audiences and benefiting local charities (Rotary & Coast Watch IoW) for several thousand pounds. Huge thanks to our tour organisers Bob Jenkins and John Williams, as well as local organiser Ron Bowler who was appointed honorary Vice President. Major congratulations as well to our young soloist Rhianna Hogg who performed magnificently. We will return!

We are delighted and humbled to announce that leading local home furnishings retailer The Place for Homes has agreed to renew their generous and very welcome sponsorship of the Choir. Located on the Llandow trading estate, The Place for Homes is a retailer founded on exemplary service and a staggering choice of stock from carpets to curtains, sofas to beds. Thank you The Place for Homes – your support is immensely welcome.

CMVC’s Open Rehearsal takes place from 8pm on Wednesday 14th September at Holy Cross Church. Designed to attract people who want to have a taste of what it is to sing in the choir without the formality of a full rehearsal, this is open to all, irrespective of age or experience. No pre-registration is necessary – just come along on the night, relax and enjoy the experience. We will even take you to the pub afterwards!

The launch of Cowbridge Pride proved to a hugely inspiring and uplifting occasion. At a completely full Town Hall, the capacity audience was treated to a wonderful performance by Vale Academy of Performing Arts, before CMVC took to the stage for a fabulous selection of ‘afterglow’ songs. This was a magnificent community event and the choir was thrilled and privileged to play its part. Congratulations to Ian ‘H’ Watkins of ‘Steps’ fame, the Town Council, Connie Orff and all others who contributed.
The September issue of our Llais Y Fro e-magazine has just been published, featuring fantastic insights and articles as well as a simply brilliant interview with Honorary Life Member Glyn Jones.

On a blistering hot 14th August, the choir was thrilled to fulfil an engagement to perform at Forage Farm in front of an appreciative audience. Forage Farm, the Penllyn Estate and all associated did so much to support the choir with rehearsal venues throughout the pandemic that some sweaty shirts were fully justified to repay their loyalty and kindness. Even the alpacas came to listen!

As the choir were undertaking their final rehearsal before their Annual Concert, David Jones was called forward to receive his Green Blazer in front of the entire assembled choir. David has been a brilliant probationary chorister, attending numerous concerts as well as working diligently to learn his repertoire parts. Many congratulations David!
