Moliant Y Maes headliners!

By Website News

At the invitation of the President of the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society, Johnny Homfray, the choir was immensely proud to headline the very popular Moliant Y Maes event on the evening before the start of the Royal Welsh Show in Builth Wells. An audience reckoned to be over 1,000 attended the shearing shed (where the event is traditionally held)  and the feedback was instantly extraordinary. Indeed, watch this space for notice of a new concert being planned with the RWAS in the Winter, such was the acclaim.

Incredible Annual Concert

By Website News

The audience came in their hundreds for our annual concert at Cowbridge Leisure Centre on July 15th and enjoyed a sumptuous evening of songs mixing traditional hymns with modern melodies. We unveiled 2 new debutant choristers in Phil Williams and Huw Davies, whilst a further 7 were making annual concert debuts. Our soloist, Ellen Williams, was majesty personified, whilst a highlight for many was a first performance of the Joni Mitchell song ‘Both Sides Now’ featuring 9 BSL-trained choristers signing the entire song. A standing ovation resulted. Bravo to our musical team of Rhiannon Williams (MD), Sandra Williams (accompanist) and Scott Williams (organ) for a wonderful performance and thanks to all of you who supported.

Brilliant tour to Cyprus!

By Website News

A large number of choristers, partners and fans from CMVC have just returned from a brilliant tour to Cyprus where the choir performed 3 fabulous concerts. Combined with the outstanding Achord Community Choir based in Cyprus for the first two performances at St Giorgio Restaurant, Paphos and the imposing Pissouri Amphitheatre, everyone enjoyed a wonderful and uplifting week in the sunshine. None will forget either the plummeting temperature at Pissouri as the wind picked up and night fell, nor the extraordinary reception and deafening applause at our final performance at St Georges Hotel, Paphos. Huge thanks to all involved in organising, particularly John Williams and Bob Jenkins.
